OGA 2017 – South East Asia’s Biggest And Best Petroleum Industry Exhibition
The 16th Asian Oil, Gas and Petrochemical Engineering Exhibition (OGA) kicked off on 11- to 13 July 2017, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, with more than 2,000 companies from 60 nations attending.
Malaysia’s Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, during the opening ceremony in the three-day event said, despite the challenges faceing the oil and gas sector in the past two years, unbelievably it is still flexible as OPEC reports said.
The Deputy Prime Minister added that the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) have an optimistic outlook for the oil market in 2017, saying global demand will rise to exceed current production.
Meanwhile, Tan Sri Asmat Kamaludin, the Chairman of Malaysian Exhibition Services told KUNA, on the sidelines of the exhibition, that this year would focus on industrial ideas by displaying the industrial companies’ products, in addition to workshops and seminars conducted to discuss all updates in the industrial fields.
Kamaludin added that industry was facing a state instability that required a suitable way to exchange knowledge to benefit and improve the local and regional industrial field.
He said the exhibition, which was established in 1987 in Kuala Lumpur, is considered the oldest and largest in East Asia.
This forum will focus on the modern techniques in Oil, Gas and Petrochemical Engineering, and allows major companies to exchange their expertise in order to face the current economic problems, in addition to challenges and opportunities of women in the Energy sector, including women in leadership roles, empowering women in the Energy sector
