Informa Markets collaborates with public-private partnerships to organise ‘ASEAN Sustainable Energy Week 2020’

Informa Markets collaborates with public-private partnerships organizing “ASEAN Sustainable Energy Week 2020” (ASE2020), the most comprehensive showcase of renewable energy innovation, in a form of Hybrid Exhibition under the new normal way of living focusing on safety and health consciousness with confidence that Thailand has the potential to become an exhibition center for the region. The event is confirmed to be held during September 23-26 at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Center (BITEC) Bangna.

Informa Markets, the organizer of ASEAN Sustainable Energy Week 2020, joins forces with relevant public and private agencies, including the Ministry of Energy, the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand, the Electric Vehicle Association of Thailand, The Joint Graduate School of Energy and Environment King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (JGSEE), and the private sector organize the ASEAN Sustainable Energy Week 2020, an exhibition of energy and environmental innovations, which is organized continuously every year, gathering the most advanced and the world-class technology that can meet all demand on environmental in all dimensions. This year, Informa Markets has redesigned the event to meet with the new normal way of living by organizing a Hybrid Exhibition, is a highly-interactive exhibition featuring the physical exhibition consisting of leading energy business partners to jointly display all products and technology and the virtual exhibition to facilitate customers from overseas, who are unable to travel to Thailand, to easily access to online exhibition during the four days of the exhibition from September 23 to 26.

Asso.Prof. Suneerat Fukuda, Director, The Joint Graduate School of Energy and Environment, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi, said that since the domestic situation has begun to relax from the COVID-19, many industries have resumed operations as normal. Energy, which is one of the key economic driving engines, has shown its important role. JGSEE has cooperated with Informa Markets to organize the Renewable Energy Asia under the ASEAN Sustainable Energy Week every year, and this year, the event will be organized under the theme of “Sustainable Energy Solutions for Smart Cities” on September 23, with the aim of pushing knowledge and supporting the energy industry both in the country and the ASEAN region to keep up with technological changes and move toward sustainably.

Dr. Yossapong Laoonual, Honorary Chairman of Electric Vehicle Association of Thailand (EVAT), Expert Committee in National Electric Vehicle Policy Committee, said that the trend of a new normal way of living that is highly concerned about the environment toward the sustainable development has resulted in an emerging to the use of clean energy and technology that helps reduce pollution. Currently, there is a change to use more electric vehicles. The government has the policy to promote electric vehicles during the past several years in terms of promoting production and announcing the policy to promote the production of an electric vehicle to 30 percent of total vehicle production by 2030, which is a clear policy. Thus, there is a belief that in the year 2025-2030 will be a period when the electric vehicle business and industry grow considerably.

Special this year at the exhibition, there will be an International Electric Vehicle Technology Conference and Exhibition or iEVTech 2020, which will have speakers from various sectors to provide knowledge and directions for the electric vehicle industry from the domestic and abroad to share their views during the pre and post COVID-19 pandemic.

Mr. Sanchai Noombunnam, Deputy Managing Director to Informa Markets, said Informa Markets as a professional organizer for international exhibitions and business activities for more than 550 events around the world collaborates with public and private partners are ready to organize the ASEAN Sustainable Energy Week 2020, which has been organized for 16 times.  This time, the exhibition will be held in the form of a hybrid exhibition. The ASEAN Sustainable Energy Week 2020 will be held under the concept of “ENERGY SOLUTIONS FOR SMART CITIES“, showing the latest technologies and innovations in energy. And this year, the exhibition will be held in conjunction with Electric Vehicle Asia, an exhibition for electric vehicle technology and equipment, battery management and control equipment for charging stations. The exhibition will be a showcase for the most innovative energy source, along with advanced technology and equipment from more than 1,000 leading brands in the world such as Delta Electronics, Solar PPM, Premier Products, Solomon Technology as well as the official sponsors including Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) and FIMER. Moreover, following the success of the three series of the webinar in preparing for the ASEAN Sustainable Energy Week 2020, we have received high attention and good feedback from the participants; thus, in the upcoming event, we believe that more than 5,000 participants will join in the online seminar and seminar at the event. Moreover, over 15,000 visitors are expected to join ASEAN Sustainable Energy Week 2020, Mr. Sanchai concluded.
