Watson-Marlow Shares Sustainable Practices at the Women Economic Forum (WEF) ASEAN 2025 in Kuala Lumpur
The Women Economic Forum (WEF) ASEAN 2025, held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 19th to 21st June 2025, brought together influential women leaders from across the region under the theme “Women Leaders Beyond Borders: Shaping the Future of the ASEAN Sheconomy.”
Held at the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI), the opening ceremony of WEF ASEAN 2025 was officiated by YB Datuk Seri Dr. Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, the wife of the Prime Minister of Malaysia. Meanwhile the Deputy Investment, Trade and Industry Minister YB Liew Chin Tong called for greater female participation in Malaysia’s economy. The closing ceremony was officiated by YB Datuk Seri Dr. Noraini Ahmad, Deputy Minister of Women, Family and Community Development.
The forum celebrated women’s role in driving economic growth, promote cross-border collaboration. It provided a platform for influential women leaders from the ASEAN region and beyond to share insights and to drive economic progress.

Faith Tang, Head of APAC Marketing, Watson-Marlow Fluid Technology Solutions moderated a Parallel Session 13 titled “Championing Environmental Changes: How Female Leaders Are Influencing The Sheconomy with Sustainable Practices.”
From an industrial manufacturing perspective, Faith Tang shared the importance of mindset change to shift the pendulum from cost-centric to value creation in building sustainable practices.

The groundbreaking Women Economic Forum WEF ASEAN 2025 welcomed 614 participants from 33 countries, supported by four advisory board members, nine ASEAN advisors, and Malaysia’s key ministries: MITI, the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development, and the Ministry of Health. Featuring 24 parallel sessions, 10 plenary discussions, 9 roundtable dialogues, 6 workshops, and 4 fireside chats, the programme was enriched by contributions from 4 keynote speakers, 29 moderators, and 20 dedicated members of the organising secretariat.

The Women Economic Forum (WEF) ASEAN 2025 concluded with 27 resolutions aimed at accelerating women’s leadership and fostering inclusive economic growth across the ASEAN region. These resolutions are built upon four key pillars: Inner Power, Inclusion, Integration, and Innovation.
